I run Frome Eco Party Kit from my home in Frome, Somerset. I hire out boxes of colourful, reusable plates, cups and bowls, so your party doesn’t end with a bin bag of paper ones.
How it started
Tillie Mabbutt started Frome Eco Party Kit in 2019. She did the sums: a child going to two parties a month, with about 30 children at each, gets through 120 plates and cups, all used once. So she put together a box of reusable ones and started hiring it out.
I took it on in 2026.
What I do
I pack every box
Everything you booked goes in, down to the bunting.
I wash everything
Every plate, cup and bowl, between every party.
I check it all back in
When your box comes back, I count everything and look it over before it goes to the next party.
Why it matters to me
What I’m proudest of is what these boxes keep out of the bin. Every cup, plate and bowl, every piece of cutlery and every tablecloth that goes out is one disposable nobody has to buy and throw away. I count them all, item by item, for the Party Kit Network each year.
The same plates and cups go from party to party.
Local to Frome
Everything lives here in Frome, and you collect your box from my home. You get the address when you book.
Your party can be anywhere nearby, in a village hall, a garden or your front room, as long as you can collect the box and bring it back. Most kits go to children’s birthdays, and they suit baby showers, kids’ clubs and other groups, and community events too.

Frome Eco Party Kit is a member of the Party Kit Network, a network of local reusable party kits across the UK.
A Party Kit Network Super Star 2025 Before I took it on, Frome Eco Party Kit was named one of 20 party kits worldwide, and one of 10 in the UK, recognised for preventing the most single-use items from August 2024 to July 2025.
